Gastronomy makes a comeback in the Real Food Kitchen. For us, gastronomy is all about premium ingredients cooked fresh from scratch with love and attention. Fresh means, as much as possible, ingredients come directly from local farmers and producers, and always without artificial preservatives. From scratch literally means building our dishes from the most basic ingredients: that's roasting our own garlic, dicing our own vegetables, and freshly grinding our own spices into sauces, marinades, dips, and dressings dreamed up in the Real Food Kitchen itself. We bake our own cookies, breads and muffins - yes, even our own gluten-free versions. We craft, tweak and play with recipes to create delicious healthy food that kids love to eat and that childcare centres can afford to provide and feel proud to serve.
We not only prepare and serve real food; we're educating our community. Through workshops and seminars, the Real Food Education Program helps kids, parents, teachers and caregivers learn more about nutrition and promoting healthy lifestyles. Eating real food early in life instills life-long healthy eating habits.
